The KF-5E Tiger II is a licence-built variant of the American Northrop F-5E Tiger II fighter aircraft operated by the Republic of Korea Air Force RoKAF. Produced jointly by Korean Air Industries airframe and Samsung Precision engines in the 1970s to bolster the RoKAF's capabilities against the threat posed by North Korea. While newer and more advanced fighters have been introduced, the KF-5E continues to play a vital role in South Korea's air defence.
